Yet Another Dental Savings-Inspired Poem

Monday, March 30th, 2009

My friend Greg sent me this poem shortly after he signed up for a DentalPlans.com membership.

While chewing on a peppermint,

My molar partly shattered.

This caused me grief,

In mouth and seat,

As work and I were scattered.

What could I do? I had to chew,

But funds were pretty skinny.

So I was down,

Until I found,

A plan that saved me plenty.

My tooth repair was with such care,

I may write home to Mom.

And I’ve got cents,

To buy more mints

You Might Need a Discount Dental Plan If… (#1)

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

So far I have just been sharing stories about how much I have helped my friends save.  But lately, I have noticed that some people don’t actually know what I’m talking about when I say “discount dental plan.”

So now, in addition to telling you about the money my friends are saving on their dental care, I’ll also be explaining exactly what a discount dental plan is.. by describing when and where most people find a use for them.

Here’s one.

You don’t have dental insurance, but you need to have an emergency dental care procedure done.

Here’s how you can save money with a discount dental plan:

1. Most discount dental plans activate in just 3 business days.

2. Discount dental plans have no health restrictions.

3. Plans start at just $79.95/year.. so you can probably afford your membership right away!

Don't Let a Fixed Income = Broken Teeth

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

I met my friend Don five years ago. After retiring, he and his wife found it difficult to afford dental care on a fixed income. Luckily, I overheard them talking about their dental care dilemma when I was eating dinner one night.

By mentioning DentalPlans.com’s discount dental plans, I helped Don and his wife save on their dental care without changing dentists.

Who says eavesdropping is a bad thing?!

Living the Life, and Still Saving on Dental Care

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

One thing I love about my job is that I meet people of all ages and occupations.

Recently, I met Craig in Gold Canyon, Arizona.

Craig no longer has to wake up at the crack of dawn and fight rush hour traffic. Oh, he used to do that. But now, he is retired.

One problem Craig did not foresee before leaving the work world, was the high cost of dental care. He always had employer-paid dental insurance, and he assumed that when he retired, he’d just pay out-of-pocket for his employer’s insurance plan.

Unfortunately, Craig found that the monthly premium was out of his budget range.

During my short visit to his city, I was about to fight the Arizona heat long enough to show Craig how much he could save with a discount dental plan from DentalPlans.com.

Craig has now been a DentalPlans.com member for over 2 years. And he still loves his plan and his savings!

Out of Work, But Not Out of Luck

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

It’s no secret. Many people are feeling the crunch of the rising unemployment rate.

Recently, I have been helping more and more people save on dental care even after they lose access to employer-paid dental insurance.

Just a few weeks ago, for example, I was passing through Bluffton, South Carolina after a visit to my non-superhero sister in North Carolina. Bluffton is where I met Catherine and her husband. Both Catherine and her husband recently found themselves unemployed for the first time in 20 years.

Unfortunately, the old saying, “When one door closes, another opens,” was not a good thing in their situation.

A few days after losing access to employer-paid dental insurance, Catherine’s husband started having unbearable tooth pain. He visited the dentist and found out he needed a root canal.

Luckily, I was able to help Catherine and her husband find a discount dental plan on DentalPlans.com that their dentist accepted.

So far, they have saved enough to pay for their DentalPlans.com membership for 7 years to come. And they aren’t even done with their first year of membership.

Now that’s what I call a success story.

Save Your Teeth: Don't Eat Stuffed Mushrooms

Friday, March 13th, 2009

This may be the first time in history that stuffed mushrooms have faced a charge of this stature.

But what I’m about to tell you is completely true.

As I’ve mentioned already, it’s my job to help out dental patients in financial distress. Whether they lack dental insurance, or they need additional savings, I show up with my laptop and help them out. No, a laptop is not your usual superhero prop. Believe me! I wanted a cape. But my laptop gives me access to dental care savings, so as the Dental Hygenie, I really didn’t have much choice.

Enough about me though, right?

So Angela was enjoying a nice birthday lunch for one of her co-workers when the culprit, stuffed mushrooms, attacked her beautiful smile.

Just one bite into the group’s appetizer and Angela’s mouth had seven, yes seven, less teeth. After 18 years, all seven dental crowns crumbled in just one harmless bite.

She was mortified.

Angela left work for the day and went to her dentist’s office, where I just happened to be waiting.

Hey, if I can’t hear the distress call after someone loses 7 teeth in one bite, I should probably just get a cape and start roaming the streets, right?

I loaded the DentalPlans.com website onto my screen and helped her find discount dental plans that her dentist accepted. Six short minutes later, and Angela was ready to fix her smile and save money while doing it!

I haven’t been back to D.C. yet to check on her, but she did promise me that she’d use a little of the money she saved to treat me to dinner. I bet I can guess what we won’t be eating!

Who Knew Dental Care Savings Could Inspire Poetry?

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Sometimes I like to visit my old friends that I’ve helped save money.

Recently, I stopped in to New Britain, Connecticut to check on my friend Andrew. When I first met Andrew, he was in need of some dental work and not really looking forward to the cost. Without dental insurance, he was getting a little nervous about the hit his bank account was going to take after visiting his dentist.

Luckily for Andrew, I was able to show him how much he could save on his dental care by joining the UniCare 200 Discount Dental Plan.

Now, most of the people I save from high dental care costs, they just send a simple thank you note. Maybe even a gift certificate?

But, Andrew, well he took a little more time to craft a special, DentalPlans.com-inspired poem.

Take a look.

I joined this discount dental plan, to save a lot of money,

to spend on my home, and to take out my honey.

I have the Unicare 200 Discount Dental Plan savings,

so I can fix my teeth, after all my sweet cravings.

When I need dental work, I’m glad I have the Unicare,

that’s why I tell my friends, that the saving are there.

They even help you find, a dentist that will accept,

easy monthly payments, that will keep you out of debt.

The website is user friendly, to help you choose a plan that’s right,

so you can save alot of money and sleep better at night.

My plan has saved me money, so I don’t feel like a jerk,

from ten to fifty percent on all my dental work.

I recommend  my plan to friends, and my family too,

because saving a lot of money is what we all would like to do

I’ve had my cavities fixed and some crowns that cost a lot.

but I saved a lot of money and my teeth won’t rot.

DentalPlans.com has saved me money and my experience has been great,

when it comes to saving money it is never too late!

The Day I Saved Acer from His Tooth's End

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Poor Acer was having incredibly bad tooth pain.

After a lifetime of relying on dental insurance to cover most of his dental care costs, Acer found himself with no dental insurance, a throbbing tooth and an endangered bank account.

He’s just lucky that I was passing through Hartford, Connecticut.

Acer was ready to pay $1,350 for a root canal!

As you know, we’re in a recession – and hey, even MY job isn’t safe. So letting poor Acer pay $1,350 would have surely put me on the chopping block.

So I strolled on in to Acer’s dentist’s office, pulled out my laptop and found a discount dental plan on DentalPlans.com that Acer’s dentist accepted.

Five minutes later, Acer was signed up for the plan. And in just five minutes, I had helped him reduce his bill from $1,350 to $695.

That’s $655 in savings – by purchasing an annual plan that starts at just $79.95! Pretty crazy, right?

Five minutes well spent if you ask me!
